Meg Elizabeth Turns One!

Happy Birthday to Meg!  I was talking to Todd a few weeks before the big day and mentioned that I wanted to do something special for Meg's Birthday, but couldn't think of a special theme.  Since she is girl #6, we've covered just about every pink party theme you can think of.  Todd came up with the Itsy Bitsy Spider.  Love it!  It's Meg's very favorite song right now!
So, I made spider cup cakes.  I found this idea on someone's blog.  Soo cute!
Meg seemed to like them and all my other girls thought they were super awesome.
These next few pictures are just for bragging purposes...

There's a few curls back there!
Check out the spider headband...

Meg didn't really like having a cupcake on fire sat in front of her!

And she really didn't know what to do with it too.  But as soon as she tasted it, she was excited.

It took her forever to eat her cupcake!  First she pinched off all of the icing and thought that was it.  Her sisters just laughed and laughed!  They showed her to eat the cake part too.  Meg actually liked the cake better than the frosting, but she also just pinched little pieces off!

Yum, she doesn't eat cupcakes like that anymore.  She had a cupcake that next day and just shoveled it all in as fast as she could.  But it sure was funny for her birthday!
 Ooooh, yah!  It's present time!

Her sisters were quick to show her how to play with her toys.
And of course we ended the fun with a bath!

Meg LOVES to stand on one foot!  So funny!
Bath time's always more fun with a couple of sisters!

I can't believe our Little Meg is already one.  She is such a wonderful, happy part of our family!

Olivia's 12!

Olivia turned 12 on Friday!  Can you believe that she has officially graduated from the church Primary Program and is now in the Young Women's Program?  I can't!

Olivia also decided against a regular birthday cake and chose chocolate chip cheese cake.  Could our years of surplus birthday cake in November finally be over?  I hope so, I loved making yummy desserts this year instead of buttery, crisco icing cakes!

Olivia is such a wonderful girl.  We love her so much!

Emily's double digits!

 Emily turned 10 on Thursday!
I can't believe how long her hair has gotten.  She's talking about cutting it and donating it to Locks for Love.  We'll see if and when that happens.  She's really likes being able to braid it and all that fun stuff.

Now that Meg has gotten a little bigger, Emily has had a lot more fun with her.  She's so good to play with her in the evenings when I'm cooking dinner.

Emily is not a birthday cake fan.  For her cake she chose a chocolate chocolate chip bundt cake.  Can't say that I blame her, I love that much better than birthday cake too!  Happy birthday Emily, we love you!

Birthday Week!

So it was birthday week at our home!  Emily turned 9 on the 3rd and Olivia turned 11 on the 4th!  It's hard to believe that I've got girls that old.  I wish they would stop growing up and stay in grade school forever.

Soooo, Marcella has started a new tradition in our home.  She asked for breakfast in bed for her birthday in March and the rest of the girls have thought that is the best present ever!  Emily got waffles and grapes.

Emily asked for a horse cake.... again.  I stole Kathryn's idea and put horse shoes on the side.

Olivia got oatmeal with rasins and toast on the side.  This breakfast really wasn't a punishment.  My girls all love oatmeal, and rasins is a treat we usually don't have (it's really that I don't remember).

Olivia asked for cheese cake!  Ahhh, truly a child of mine.  Give me cheese cake or pie any day over cake.  I made a scrumptious chocolate chip cheese cake.

Silly Sisters.  They were just as excited to watch their sister's open the presents.

It was a fun week, but I must admit, I'm so glad it's over.  It's a lot of work to have to plan for two birthdays a day apart!

Happy St. Patricks Day!

Marcella Anne is Four!

Our Family is sooo lucky to have Marcella's Birthday on Saint Patrick's Day! I asked Marcella the night before her big day what she wanted to do on her birthday. The first thing that popped out of her mouth was that she wanted to do what Daddy had done on his birthday... have breakfast in bed! I don't even remember doing that for Todd last year, it must have made a pretty strong impression on our lucky girl.

She absolutely LOVED eating in bed! Her favorite breakfast... strawberry oatmeal, chased down with a leporcahn green powdered donut. Marcella made her sisters green with envy with the whole breakfast in bed deal. I have a feeling it will be requested many times in our household from now on.

Here's Audrey, Olivia and Emily sporting there green for school.... no pinches here!

And here's our Marcella and Rylee Jo!

Denver just happened to have the most gorgeous St. Patricks day this year! The forcast called for a near 70 degree day! I was sooo excited because Marcella has been asking since January if she could go to the zoo for her birthday. She really must be a lucky girl!

Marcella brought her very best friend Cali with her to the zoo.

Marcella's first ride on the Zoo train. For those of you who may go to the zoo, are on a budget and wonder if it's more fun to ride the carousel or the train.... the carousel is soooo much better. Maybe it was the wrong time of the year for the train ride, but it was pretty lame. We didn't really see any animals and I think the carousel ride was longer!

Rylee and her mommy!

I just couldn't help but put this sweet profile in!

Our last stop was at the elephants on our way out. My, was I tired from from dragging that wagon and the girls were tuckered out too. When we first got to the elephants, they had their backs to us, but Marcella called their names (Elly and Dolly) over and over and over again. After a few minutes of this, wouldn't you know, those elephants turned around and started walking towards us! It totally made Marcella's zoo visit.

Thank goodness for Grandma! Grandma sent a package of presents for Marcella to open, it really helped so that Todd could watch her open other presents once he got home that weekend.

Marcella loved getting an Only Hearts Doll horse!

I just can't believe that my curly haired baby girl is four now.
Marcella is such a happy girl, full of the silliest things to say!
